There are just a few supplies needed for this craft — a small flower pot or container, pom poms, floral styrofoam, and a hot glue gun. Get the complete list below.
I recommend an adult do the cutting for the Styrofoam and assist with the gluing.
For the container, I used a little tin bucket that I found at the dollar store but any small container will do. Other container options include a small flower pot, a mug, a tin can or a jar.
I found all of my supplies at Walmart and the Dollar Store except for the pom poms, you can get the link to those in the supply list below.
Supplies
- Pom poms (I used all 1-inch size)

How to Make a Pom Pom Topiary
If you’re painting or decorating a container, do that first, then assemble the topiary with straws or a stick through the ball and base foam as follows…
Cut down a piece of floral foam to a size that will fit snuggly inside your container. I used a kitchen knife for this, nothing fancy. An adult should do the cutting!
Next, make a starter hole in the floral foam then push the four paper straws or stick them into the foam ball and base.
Now glue the pom poms onto the foam ball one by one. Use tweezers or silicone finger protectors to place each pom pom onto the foam ball to avoid getting burned! To finish, add a little floral moss to the container.
