How to Make a Spooky Mansion Wreath – 5 Easy Steps

STEP 1: Cover A Hula Hoop

Cut a plastic tablecloth into 3.5-inch strips to wrap around a hula hoop. I used just the outer edge of this tablecloth for mine because I liked the stripe pattern. Alternative: You could also use a spray paint formulated for plastic.

STEP 2: Cut Out Ghosts Decorations

Grab a milk or water jug and draw ghosts with a permanent black marker. Cut them with scissors. And, don’t worry about being perfect.

STEP 3: Cut Out A Spooky Mansion Decoration

Download and print the Spooky Mansion Template (link in the supplies list above) and tape the template together. Then tape the template to one side of a black plastic folder. Remove any pockets and the other cover of the folder.

Note: Not all plastic pocket folders are the same. The plastic folder I planned to use for this craft was thick and too difficult to cut, so I bought a lighter-weight one.

Start by scoring the windows, door, and fence (inside pieces) with an X-Acto knife. You don’t need to cut all the way through at this point, scoring will give you an idea of where to cut later. Next use scissors to cut the outer edge of the mansion.

Remove the paper template and go back and cut the fence, windows, and door out. BE CAREFUL and an adult should do the cutting!
