I found these three shutters at an antique store for $5 and knew they would make the perfect display wall for my own antique booth. They work well for postcards, greeting cards, and small art prints, with clips added for pieces that don’t fit the slots. Below are the details for this quick and easy project.

Supplies
- Old wooden shutters
- Mending plates
- A Philips head screwdriver
- small wood screws
- A drill
- Sawtooth picture hangers
How To Make a Card Holder From Old Shutters – 3 Easy Steps
STEP 1:
Start by painting your shutters if you like, then attach straight mending brackets to the back with wood screws. I used four 3-inch brackets to secure mine together. Next, add sawtooth hangers to the top of each shutter to hang it.
Tip: I recommend drilling a small pilot hole before screwing in the wood to prevent cracking.

STEP 2:
If your shutters are louvered, add small wood screws to secure the corners every 4-5 slats. This will lock the shutters in place to remain open at the top.

STEP 3:
Hang up and enjoy!
Below are a couple of photos of the card rack in my antique store booth. I love the pop of color it adds to my space, and I try to keep it filled with new card designs and art!
