How to Make Key Tag Charms

STEP 1:

Create a front and back for your charm, then use craft glue to attach your design elements to the tag. I used a 1.125″ round hole punch to make uniform paper circles, but hand-cut pieces work just as well. You can decorate your charms using bits like old book pages, ephemera, washi tape, patterned paper, photos, small embellishments, or anything flat from your craft bin.

STEP 2:

Punch a hole in the charm before sealing, if needed. Apply Mod Podge Dimensional Magic to the surface to seal and add a glossy finish, using a toothpick to pop any bubbles and gently smooth it to the edges. Let it dry for 24 hours, then repeat the process on the back is you like.

There are lots of ways to use these finished charms, including bag charms, necklace pendants, magnets, wine glass charms, bookmarks, or small framed collages. Finish them by gluing on a magnet, pin back, jump ring, necklace hook or pendant bail with E6000 adhesive.

Punch a hole or add a magnet, necklace hook or no hole and glue a necklace finding to the back, magnet or pin.
