How to Cut Pine Cones
To get started, choose a few pine cones that have a top just slightly larger than your egg rim.
The round variety
I’m sure these have a name! I found these pine cones to be very tough and they had to be cut and shaped with garden sheers.

Long Pine Cones
I figured out that I could just twist the tops off of the longer pine cones with my hands. If I twisted one and the top was too small, I tried to use a middle section. Some of mine were so dry they crumbled but I had a bunch so I just grabbed another one.

How to Make Rustic Acorns
Paint the plastic Easter eggs with chalk paint and let them dry completely.

Hot-glue lace ribbon and/or twine onto the egg rims to decorate. Last, add a ring of hot glue around the rim of the Easter Egg to glue the pine cone top on.

Ways to Decorate with Rustic Acorns
Just a few bullets:
- Fill a wooden bowl or dough bowl.
- Tuck them into a fall wreath.
- Add them to a mantel display.
- String them into a rustic garland.
- Display them in a basket with pinecones and leaves.
