These cute felt woodland animal appliqué patches are easy to make and a fun craft for teens and adults. Use them to decorate cards, journals, or wearables, or string them together to make a garland. Below are all the details, and a link to the free patterns.
Supplies
- Freezer Paper
- A fine-point black marker
- Fabric and Embroidery Scissors
- Fabric Glue
- A toothpick
- Thick Felt in light gray, dark gray, black, orange, white, light brown, and dark brown

How to Make Woodland Felt Animals
STEP 1:
Print the PDF patterns directly onto the matte side of Freezer Paper OR…

Print the PDF pages out and trace the pattern onto the matte side of a sheet of Freezer Paper.

STEP 2:
Roughly cut around pattern pieces and arrange them onto felt sheets by color.

STEP 3:
Iron the shiny side of the freezer paper onto the felt using medium, dry heat. You only need to press for a few seconds.

STEP 4:
Cut out the pattern shapes using sharp fabric scissors and embroidery scissors for smaller pattern pieces, and remove the freezer paper.

STEP 5:
Apply fabric glue to the back of the felt pieces and assemble each using the reference page as a guide. For smaller felt pieces use a toothpick to apply the glue.


STEP 6:
To finish, draw the eyes on each with a black fine-point permanent marker.
