Snickerdoodle cookies are one of our favorites. And true to classic form, they’re rolled in an extra delicious layer of cinnamon sugar!

The batch makes 36 cookies and you don’t need to refrigerate the dough before baking. They’re quick and easy to make for holiday cookie exchanges, picnics or to bring to a potluck meal.

Here's What You'll Need

Baking sheets
A medium sized mixing bowl and a small bowl
Hand mixer (optional)
Cooling racks (optional)

INGREDIENTS

1 cup butter (softened – 2 sticks)
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons white vinegar
1 cup sugar
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons cream or tartar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
To roll – An additional 3 tablespoons sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350-degrees.

2. In a medium size mixing bowl, blend together the softened butter, sugar, eggs, vinegar and vanilla extract.

3. Slowly add in the dry ingredients, baking powder, cinnamon, cream of tartar, salt and flour.
4. In a small bowl combine 2 tablespoons of sugar with 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon.

5. Pinch a small amount of dough and roll it into a 1-inch ball. Then roll it in cinnamon sugar.

6. Place on a parchment lined or greased baking sheets and flatten.

7. Bake until lightly browned about 10-12 minutes.
