This glass gem votive candle holder is easy to make and throws a lot of sparkle.
Make a few to give as gifts or make a bunch of them as decorations for a wedding or shower or to give as gifts. Just don’t forget to make a couple for yourself!
I chose aqua and sea green colored gems but you can buy them in many colors.
As far as putting this DIY together, I did run into a slight snag. I originally tried to glue the gems directly onto my glass jar and they kept sliding off. I really don’t know if they would have stuck at all but I do know they wouldn’t set up.
To fix this I used a sheer sparkly mesh (tulle basically) and glued that to the jar so my gems had something to adhere to.
Supplies
- Glass jar or votive
- Sheer mesh (tulle)
- E6000 Adhesive
- Glass Gems
- Cardstock (or thicker paper)
- Elastic bands
- Decorative ribbon or raffia (optional)
